A STAGED NEW YEAR’S MESSAGE (2021)
“A Staged New Year’s Message” is a special mini-episode (or “minisode”) of the British television comedy series Staged, featuring the cast—and serving as a New Year’s Eve greeting as well as a hint toward a possible third series.
Staged, created and written by Simon Evans and Phin Glynn, stars Michael Sheen, David Tennant, along with Simon Evans, Georgia Tennant, Anna Lundberg, and Lucy Eaton. The series uniquely portrays fictionalised versions of themselves during the COVID‑19 pandemic, often filmed via video-conference. The show originally aired on BBC One in 2020 (first series) and early 2021 (second series).
The New Year’s Message was released on 31 December 2021, uploaded to the BritBox YouTube page, and featured the main cast members reprising their roles in this festive, light‑hearted message. It doubled as both a holiday greeting and a teaser for the show’s future.
