Golden Bear Best Short Film Berlin Film Festival
Set in Buenos Aires in 2019, the story follows Lucrecia, a security guard at an art museum who seems to possess a strange ability: she senses an upcoming robbery and predicts a sharp rise in the U.S. dollar by using a pendulum.
She’s fired from her job but receives a severance package, which she cleverly uses to buy dollars right before their value skyrockets. This leads her to meet a young man who works at a currency exchange house. An unexpected emotional connection develops between them.
The film cleverly blends absurdism, politics, economics, and low-key humor, offering a satirical lens on Argentina’s socio-economic reality.
